
Norine Smith, MSW, LCSW
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Ms. Smith has extensive experience in community and organizational development, with a particular emphasis on public health matters. Her areas of expertise include consulting, training and technical assistance services to staff and boards of community and social service agencies.
Ms. Smith has been a contact officer who monitored performance, trained and provided technical assistance to over one hundred not-for-profit organizations working under federal program and contract regulations. Having administrative and leadership experience in the public health arena, she has trained a variety of professionals and paraprofessionals in communication, assessment and effective counseling skills.
Ms. Smith has assisted three community groups in the process of developing, structuring and incorporating as a California not-for-profit organization. Her top three skills are the following:
- Translating plans and program designs into doable, effective steps, grounded in real world parameters.
- Consultation and training for managers and supervisors in effective handling on challenging staff, staff interactions and difficult personal situations.
- Training in doable self care and stress management for managers and line staff.
